Very few people are aware of the improvement there is in wearing tightfitted clothes. Dr Michele Ferrari has made a survey regarding this and concludes that the improvement is 15 watt at a speed of 45 km/h with a tightfitted shirt compared to a loosefitted.
This improvement gets even bigger wearing a phantom suit. Tests on Tony Romminger shows that he with a power output of 420 watts in a regular streetshirt rode 51 km/h and with the same effort drove 53 km/h wearing a phantom suit. |
